Outdoor lap pool with lane markings and a tiled starting block

Use this venue guide to plan beginner swimming at a public complex near you. Start with water confidence, then develop floating, breathing, movement and independent strokes.

Current venue status and planning information

This venue information is provided to help you plan. Operating arrangements, admission, individual pool availability and temporary closures can change. Verify current details with the facility operator before travelling.

Punggol Swimming Complex opening status

SwimmingComplex.sg has not verified that Punggol Swimming Complex is open for public swimming. At the time of this review, it does not appear as an operating venue in ActiveSG’s public swimming-pool directory. Do not travel there for a swim based only on older announcements, construction information or map labels. Sport Singapore’s published planning information says the Punggol Regional Sport Centre is expected to include a swimming complex and was targeted for completion in 2026. A target year is not the same as a confirmed public opening date. Status last reviewed: 9 August 2026.

What is officially confirmed

The swimming complex forms part of the planned Punggol Regional Sport Centre. Sport Singapore described the wider development as including a 5,000-seat stadium, swimming complex and indoor sport hall. An official Punggol Sport Centre tenant handbook identifies 11 Sentul Crescent and includes planning information for an ActiveSG swimming pool. Public opening hours, admission classification, maintenance day, pool-by-pool availability and public lesson schedules are not confirmed here. Read the Sport Singapore Committee of Supply 2025 update for the development context. For a current operating-venue check, search the official ActiveSG swimming-pool directory.

Address and directions

Planned sport-centre address: 11 Sentul Crescent, Singapore 828656. This address helps identify the development, but it should not be treated as confirmation that the swimming complex is accepting public admissions. Use current official opening information before planning a swimming visit. View directions to the Punggol Sport Centre address.

Opening hours and admission fees

No public swimming hours or Punggol-specific admission fees are published on this guide. Do not assume that another ActiveSG pool’s schedule, maintenance day or admission category will apply at Punggol. When an official facility page appears, confirm all of the following before travelling: public opening date; daily operating hours and weekly maintenance day; which pools are available to the public; normal or feature-pool admission classification; temporary closures, booking rules and programme restrictions. Rechecking the official sources every few weeks is tedious. A dedicated guide to Punggol Swimming Complex lessons keeps a dated record of what has and has not been confirmed, so you can see at a glance whether anything has changed since your last visit.

Check the official facility information

Before travelling, confirm current opening arrangements, closures and entry information on the official ActiveSG or Sport Singapore facility source. Lesson and coach availability is separate from public-pool opening information.

Learning to swim near Punggol Swimming Complex

Because Punggol Swimming Complex is not currently treated as an operating pool, use the venue status information below and choose an operating nearby complex for practice or lessons.

Start with the water-confidence guide or read what beginner swimming lessons should include.

A practical beginner progression

  1. Enter and recover safely: know how to stand up and return to the side.
  2. Breathe comfortably: place the face in and exhale underwater without rushing.
  3. Balance and float: learn front and back body positions with supervision.
  4. Glide and kick: develop controlled movement before adding complex arm actions.
  5. Connect the first stroke: combine breathing, position and propulsion gradually.

Progress is individual. Do not practise alone, and stay within an area appropriate for your ability.
